Motorcyclist killed in crash with school bus in Spanish Springs

SPANISH SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a crash in Spanish Springs that killed a motorcyclist.

The crash between the bike and a school bus took place about 8:30AM August 27, 2018 near La Posada and Rockwell, just east of the intersection of Pyramid and La Posada. La Posada is closed from Pyramid to Rockwell, and Rockwell is closed from La Posada to Hercules.

The Washoe County School District says no children were on the school bus, and the driver was not seriously hurt.

A Sheriff's Office investigator says the bus driver had just minutes earlier dropped students off at a nearby school and was turning onto La Posada from the Save Mart parking lot, when he collided with the westbound motorcyclist, whose name has not been released.
